Fibromyalgia is a disease characterized by widespread muscle aches, tenderness and fatigue throughout the body. The nervous system over-perceives pain and sends pain sensations even to areas that are normally pain-free. As a result, other symptoms such as headaches, sleep disturbances, depression and anxiety can also occur. The exact cause of fibromyalgia is unknown, but various factors such as stress, genetic factors and infections can contribute to the development of the disease. Treatment is usually with medication to manage pain, exercise and psychological support.
Cytokine therapy is a treatment method used to regulate the immune system. Cytokines are proteins that enable cellular communication in the body and direct immune responses. Cytokine therapy is used to treat certain diseases, especially cancer, autoimmune diseases and infections. This treatment strengthens the body's defense mechanisms, allowing it to respond more effectively to disease. Cytokine therapy is usually tailored to the patient's condition and should be administered under the supervision of a doctor.
A herniated disc is a condition caused by damage to the discs between the vertebrae. The vertebrae are supported by cushions called discs in the back and lumbar region. However, these discs can slip or tear due to excessive load, poor posture or aging. When this happens, the nerves that exit the spinal cord can become compressed, causing pain, numbness and muscle weakness. A herniated disc, which usually occurs in the lower back, can be triggered by prolonged sitting, heavy lifting or sudden movements. Early diagnosis and appropriate treatment can prevent the disease from progressing.
